NEW LUXURY WALKING BREAKS IN THE YORKSHIRE DALES
Date: 25th September 2006
Swinton Park, The Yorke Arms and The Blue Lion have linked together to offer a walking package for those who like to combine the great outdoors with some of life’s little comforts and luxuries.

Each venue shares several common features : excellent food, good service, luxury surroundings, and a string of awards to their name. At the same time, they each have their very individual characteristics : Swinton Park as a luxury castle hotel with spa; The Yorke Arms a restaurant with rooms and a Michelin star; and The Blue Lion as a traditional coaching house inn.

This is an opportunity to explore some of the lesser know areas of the Dales stretching across from the of picturesque dales of Nidderdale and Colsterdale, over bracing and open moorland to tranquil walks beside the River Ure in Wensleydale.

Guests will be given a walking guide for each leg of the route, each of which starts with an overnight stay and includes free delivery of baggage on to the next night’s destination. Each leg is approximately 10-12 miles long, which involves some hill walking but is also quite easily achievable in a day’s walk, and picnics are available too. On the leg between Swinton Park and the Yorke Arms there is also the opportunity to enjoy lunch in a shooting hut on the moors, offering shelter, wonderful views and even an open fire on a cold day.

Room rates start at £150/night at The Yorke Arms and Swinton Park, and from £79/night at The Blue Lion. Package currently running until 31st March 2007.
