There are various courses and themed lunches available at this award winning hotel, but the Flowers for the Home course is new for 2006 and offers a whole day to enjoy learning new skills, along with lunch in the 3 Rosette restaurant and a tour of the hotel’s cutting garden.
The flower arranging course is run by the award winning florist, Elspeth White (one of The Independent’s Top 50 Florists). She has a simple and uncomplicated approach to floristry and flower arranging with a preference for the country style with a classical influence. The day starts at 9.30am with a morning of demonstration and hands on arranging, including a break for coffee.
This then leads into a two course lunch in Samuel’s restaurant, with delicious cuisine which features many fresh seasonal produce from the hotel’s 4 acre walled garden and the surrounding estate.
Susan Cunliffe-Lister (Country Life Gardener of the Year 2001) is a highly regarded gardener, having transformed the gardens at Burton Agnes in East Yorkshire and more recently completely restored the walled garden at Swinton Park. Following on from lunch, guests will be taken on a tour of the cutting garden with Susan Cunliffe-Lister, who will advise on her favourite flowers to cultivate, grow and cut.
Course dates are : 31st March, 12th May, 26th May, 30th June,
28th July and cost £95 per person, including the four hour
flower arranging course, mid morning coffee, two course lunch
and tour of the gardens.
