Racing Breaks

Swinton Park is conveniently situated close to some of the best race courses in the country. The racing town of Middleham is only a few miles away, with training gallops on the breathtakingly beautiful Wensleydale moors.

We offer a Racing Break Package which can be tailor made to suit your particular requirements. The usual format for on a race day includes a morning trip to the local stables and exercise gallops at Middleham, a late morning brunch, entry to the races and transport.

The standard package costs in the region of £95 per person, which will vary depending on the race meeting and the number in the group sharing transport. York and Wetherby racecourse are about a 50 minute drive, Ripon, Catterick and Thirsk about 30 minutes. Any accommodation costs will be an additional charge.

RIPON RACES Two-for-One Ticket Offer

During the 2013 season, guests staying at Swinton Park can enjoy a “Two for One” offer on tickets at Ripon Racecourse. For further details please visit the Ripon Races website.

Walking Breaks

Take to the hills and enjoy the great outdoors exploring the Yorkshire Dales, safe in the knowledge that all the creature comforts await you at the end of the day.

For those that would like to indulge a little, we have hampers available that can be delivered to one of our Bothy Huts on the moors. These offer shelter (with a blazing fire) and sweeping views of the surrounding Dales.

There are two walking packages available :

The Dales Explorer

This is a package that allows you to walk between Swinton Park and two other luxury hotels in the area, The Yorke Arms in Nidderdale and The Blue Lion at East Witton in Wensleydale.

There is free baggage delivery between each destination and a walking map to help you find your way. Picnics are also available, and there is a Bothy Lunch Hut on the moors on Swinton Estate for those wanting to enjoy some shelter and a blazing fire on a winter’s day. The package price amounts to the B&B or DB&B rates available at any one of the hotels you would like to stay at, with just an extra charge for a picnic or for the use of the Bothy Lunch Hut. The baggage delivery service is provided by the hotel that you are walking from, but is not available between The Yorke Arms and The Blue Lion.

The Swinton Estate Rambler

Stay at Swinton Park for a night, and explore the 20,000 acre Swinton Estate stretching from the River Ure up onto the moorland dales. Walking routes available range from a gentle stroll along the River Burn to a day hike up onto the moors including lunch in a bothy hut. For the really keen there is a 32 mile walk around the perimeter of the Estate.
The Swinton Estate Rambler package includes :
- accommodation with breakfast and dinner for two.
- a rucksack picnic to take with you on your walk (hamper delivery service to Bothy Hut available at extra charge)
- illustrated Swinton Estate walking guide
- an hour in our spa (with Jacuzzi and sauna) and a half hour Walker’s Massage on return

Rates for this package start at £295 per room per night.

The Turner Trail

JMW Turner RA (1775-1851) was one of Britain’s greatest landscape painters, watercolourists and printmakers. Renowned as ‘the painter of light’, Turner’s work helped to place romantic landscape painting on a par with history painting in the 19th Century and helped plant the seeds of impressionism.
Turner first visited Yorkshire in 1797 and returned here throughout his life, inspired by the spirituality he found in its glorious landscapes. He visited more than 70 places, many of them local to Swinton Park such as Masham, Fountains Abbey, Jervaulx Abbey, Hackfall and Bolton Castle. He sketched and painted the views he saw from many angles and many scenes in his Yorkshire works can still be viewed today.

Golf Breaks

One night golf break

A one night stay with golf for two at the charming nine hole Masham Golf Course, situated 1/4 mile from the hotel on the Swinton Estate. You can also treat yourself to an hour in our exclusive use spa (with sauna and Jacuzzi). Package cost, including accommodation and dinner for two.
£285 per room for two.

Two night golf break

A two night stay with golf for two and an hour in our exclusive use spa (with sauna and Jacuzzi). This package includes dinner, bed and breakfast for both nights.
£570.00 per room for two (£285 per night).

Golf Coaching

If you would like to spend a little time improving your skills and technique, we can book you a lesson with the golf club PGA Coach, Andy Marshall, allowing you to develop your swing, short play, or any aspect of your game you need to focus on.

Spa Heaven

Enjoy one and two night spa packages at Swinton Park. One night packages include dinner, bed and breakfast and two hours of treatments (per room). Two night spa packages include dinner, bed and breakfast on both nights and three hours of treatments (per room).

We have on offer a wide range of face, body, beauty and complementary therapy treatments, using the [ comfort zone ], Ytsara, Daniel Sandler and Jessica range of products. The spa is available to hotel guests only, on an exclusive use basis.

Rates are from £175 per person (one night) and from £327.50 per person (two nights) for a mid-range room, based on two people sharing. A 10% discount applies to all additional treatments booked.

Winter Spa Breaks

5th November – 28th March*

Beat the winter blues this winter with a little indulgence and a one or two night spa break which includes accommodation, dinner, an hour in our exclusive use spa each day and your choice of face, body or beauty treatments (2 hours for a one night stay and 3 hours for a two night stay). Saturday nights included but in some cases a minimum 2 night booking condition applies.

For this limited period only, the packages have been reduced from £350 to £300 for a one night break, and from £655 to £595 for a two night break. You can also upgrade to a Dukes room or a Suite for only £50 per room per night.

Foodie Heaven

Dine out in style with this overnight gourmet package.

Enjoy a night’s accommodation with a cream tea on arrival, pre-dinner champagne cocktail, Signature seven course Tasting Menu in Samuel’s Restaurant, an hour in our exclusive use spa, and a Chef’s Kitchen gourmet gift on departure.

Rates start at £275 per night per room (for two guests).

Tour de Yorkshire

Stay a night at Swinton Park at the heart of the Tour de France route, and cycle a section of your choice or a number of routes around the Swinton Estate (cycle maps supplied). The package is for two guests and includes accommodation, breakfast and dinner with the choice of a rucksack picnic en route or a cream tea in the Drawing Room on your return. For those aching limbs, an hour in the hot tub and sauna in the exclusive use Spa, and an hour’s Cyclist Massage for both of you is also included.

From £440 per room/night. Saturday supplement of £25 applies.
