Are you looking for a hotel that can offer a genuinely romantic break, allowing you and your loved one time to relax and soak up the atmosphere and indulge a little?

Here at Swinton Park, is the answer. Our two night packages take care of all the detail, with the options available for you to book any extras such as :

- A spa treatment and this includes our “Massage for Two” – which is also available as a gift voucher to be redeemed at any time.
– a falconry experience
– a cream tea beside the roaring fire in the Drawing Room, after a walk in our glorious parkland.

Romantic Break Deluxe

Enjoy two nights’ accommodation in one of our lavish Dukes rooms or Suites (including the Turret on three circular floors!), with dinner on both nights and also the following :

• Champagne and strawberries dipped in chocolate in your room on arrival
• Anne Semonin Toiletries in your room
• A Tasting Menu dinner on the evening of your choice

Romantic Break

Enjoy two nights’ accommodation in one of our spacious Knights, Barons or Earls rooms, with dinner on both nights and also the following :

All inclusive price £530.00

One Night of Romance

Enjoy one night of luxury from £265 per room which includes :

- Bed and Breakfast

Setting the Scene for the Big Question

This is something we are really good at helping with, in a very discreet way! Here are a few ideas that work well, although we are also very happy to help if you have any other particular requirements in mind :

Spa Serenity
Relax in our spa, which you can enjoy all to yourselves for an hour, with sauna, jacuzzi and relaxation area. Arrive and the scene is set with champagne and strawberries, and lit by candlelight for the magic touch (for twilight and evening bookings).

Lakeside Retreat
For the wow factor, take your partner for a walk to one of the lakes in the grounds, and arrive to find the scene set for you in a sheltered spot – with champagne and strawberries in summer months and Mulled Wine and Mince Pies in winter months.

Free Spirit
Roam around the parkland or up onto the moorland dales and choose your spot when the fancy takes you. We send you off with a rucksack with champagne, chocolates and picnic rug – the rest is up to you!

There is a charge of £55 for each of these arrangements. If you would also like flowers to be left in your bedroom for your return, we can arrange this also – the cost of a bouquet starting at about £30.

Racing Breaks

Swinton Park is conveniently situated close to some of the best race courses in the country and the racing town of Middleham is only a few miles away, with training gallops on the breathtakingly beautiful Wensleydale moors.

The race days for York, Ripon and Thirsk are listed on our Calendar of Events page, and we offer a Racing Break Package which can be tailor made to suit your particular requirements.

The usual format for on a race day includes a morning trip to the local stables and exercise gallops at Middleham, a late morning brunch, entry to the races and transport.

The standard package costs in the region of £95 per person, which will vary depending on the race meeting and the number in the group sharing transport. York and Wetherby racecourse are about a 50 minute drive, Ripon, Catterick and Thirsk about 30 minutes. Any accommodation costs will be an additional charge.

RIPON RACES Two-for-One Ticket Offer

During the 2011 season, guests staying at Swinton Park can enjoy a “Two for One” offer on tickets at Ripon Racecourse meaning a pre-booked price of £19 for two people on a standard day (usual price £38) or £22 for two people on a feature day (usual price £44).*

Walking Breaks

Take to the hills and enjoy the great outdoors exploring the Yorkshire Dales, safe in the knowledge that all the creature comforts await you at the end of the day. There are two walking packages available :

The Dales Explorer

This is a package that allows you to walk between Swinton Park and two other luxury hotels in the area, The Yorke Arms in Nidderdale and The Blue Lion at East Witton in Wensleydale.

There is free baggage delivery between each destination and a walking map to help you find your way. Picnics are also available, and there is a Bothy Lunch Hut on the moors on Swinton Estate for those wanting to enjoy some shelter and a blazing fire on a winter’s day. The package price amounts to the B&B or DB&B rates available at any one of the hotels you would like to stay at, with just an extra charge for a picnic or for the use of the Bothy Lunch Hut. The baggage delivery service is provided by the hotel that you are walking from, but is not available between The Yorke Arms and The Blue Lion.

The Swinton Estate Rambler

Stay at Swinton Park for a night, and explore the 20,000 acre Swinton Estate stretching from the River Ure up onto the moorland dales. Walking routes available range from a gentle stroll along the River Burn to a day hike up onto the moors including lunch in a bothy hut. For the really keen there is a 32 mile walk around the perimeter of the Estate.
The Swinton Estate Rambler package includes :
– accommodation with breakfast and dinner for two.
– a rucksack picnic to take with you on your walk (hamper delivery service to Bothy Hut available at extra charge)
– illustrated Swinton Estate walking guide
– an hour in our spa (with Jacuzzi and sauna) and a half hour Walker’s Massage on return
Rates for this package start at £285 per room per night.*

*A supplement of £50 per room applies to Saturday night bookings, and one night stays may not always be available on Saturday nights. Rates apply to standard room bookings, upgrade to a superior room available at £50/night.

The Turner Trail

JMW Turner RA (1775-1851) was one of Britain’s greatest landscape painters, watercolourists and printmakers. Renowned as ‘the painter of light’, Turner’s work helped to place romantic landscape painting on a par with history painting in the 19th Century and helped plant the seeds of impressionism.
Turner first visited Yorkshire in 1797 and returned here throughout his life, inspired by the spirituality he found in its glorious landscapes. He visited more than 70 places, many of them local to Swinton Park such as Masham, Fountains Abbey, Jervaulx Abbey, Hackfall and Bolton Castle. He sketched and painted the views he saw from many angles and many scenes in his Yorkshire works can still be viewed today.

Golf Breaks

One night golf break

A one night stay with unlimited golf at the charming nine hole Masham Golf Course, situated 1/4 mile from the hotel on the Swinton Estate. You can also treat yourself or your partner to an hour’s treatment, choosing from the extensive range of face, body and beauty products, and an hour in our exclusive use spa (with sauna and Jacuzzi). Package cost, including accommodation and dinner for two.
£315 per room for two.

Two night golf break

A two night stay with unlimited play on the golf course, an hour’s treatment for one and an hour in our exclusive use spa (with sauna and Jacuzzi). This package includes dinner, bed and breakfast for both nights.
£560 per room for two (£280 per night).

Please note that Saturday night is excluded from these packages.

Golf Coaching

If you would like to spend a little time improving your skills and technique, we can book you a lesson with the golf club PGA Coach, Andy Marshall, allowing you to develop your swing, short play, or any aspect of your game you need to focus on.

Spa Breaks

Enjoy one and two night spa packages at Swinton Park. One night packages include dinner, bed and breakfast and two hours of treatments (per room). Two night spa packages include dinner, bed and breakfast on both nights and three hours of treatments (per room).

We have on offer a wide range of face, body, beauty and complementary therapy treatments, using the [ comfort zone ], Daniel Sandler and Jessica range of products. The spa is available to hotel guests only, on an exclusive use basis.

Rates are from £350 per room (one night) and from £655 per room (two nights). A 10% discount applies to all additional treatments booked. Saturday nights are excluded.

Winter Spa Breaks

Beat the winter blues this winter with a little indulgence and a one or two night spa break which includes accommodation, dinner, an hour in our exclusive use spa each day and your choice of face, body or beauty treatments (two hours for a one night stay and three hours for a two night stay).
For this limited period only, the package prices have been reduced:– for a one night break: £300 (reduced from £350) for a two night break: £560 (reduced from £655) You can also upgrade to a Dukes room or a Suite for only £20 per person.

Foodie Heaven

Dine out in style with this overnight gourmet package.

Enjoy a night’s accommodation with a cream tea on arrival, pre-dinner champagne cocktail, Signature seven course Tasting Menu in Samuel’s Restaurant, an hour in our exclusive use spa, and a Chef’s Kitchen gourmet gift on departure.

Rates start at £250 per night per room (for two guests), if you would like to stay a Saturday night a supplement of £50 applies.

This is an event where we thought we would bring together an extravaganza of wine and fine cuisine, with tastings and demonstrations and even a gourmet treasure hunt.

The two and one day weekend events include five course gourmet dinner, accommodation and breakfast, and wine at dinner.

The package price per room for two guests, including wine tastings and demonstrations in the cookery school is:–

For the two night package: £670 for a Knights, Barons or Earls room £720 for a Dukes room or £770 for a suite
For a one night package: £365 for a Knights, Barons or Earls room £390 for a Dukes room or £415 for a suite.
