Yorkshire Hotel announces plans for expansion
Swinton Park has announced plans for expansion with the development of a new spa, health club and brasserie. These will be built in the workshops and garden buildings (currently derelict) that are adjacent to the hotel’s walled garden. The complex will include an 18m pool and wellness suite, gym and fitness studio, treatment rooms, a garden terrace and access to walking and fitness trails in the 200 acres of landscaped parkland and gardens. Hotel guests, day visitors and club members will all be able to enjoy the facilities.
“We have been planning a development along these lines for several years” commented proprietor Felicity Cunliffe-Lister, “and we are now at the stage where the hotel needs to provide these facilities in order to maintain its position as market leader. The development will allow us to restore the redundant buildings, improve access to the parkland for visitors and help establish the Swinton Estate as a destination for sustainable tourism activities such as fishing, walking, falconry and riding.”
It is anticipated that the development will create 20 full time jobs initially.

- A planning application has been submitted to Harrogate Borough Council (Ref: DCACKPA6.9.1.AB.FULMAJ13/01078/FULMAJ)
