Our charming, rustic Deerhouse is the perfect setting for dinner on a summer’s evening. This year, on selected Saturday evenings, we will serving a five-course dinner menu created by Samuel’s head chef Simon Crannage, featuring seasonal ingredients from the Estate and Walled Garden. Enjoy an aperitif as you watch the sun go down over the Parkland, then join the party for delightful alfresco dinner in the Deerhouse, served at a single long table.
Warmed by braziers, under a canopy of starlight, what better way to enjoy a beautiful summer’s evening?
£45 per person including aperitif, coffee and transport between the hotel and the Deerhouse.
Guests will all be seated together at a single, large table. Warm clothing and footwear highly recommended, as the evening turns cool after sunset. This is a rustic experience, with uneven ground surrounding the Deerhouse – please take care on arrival and departure. In the event of very bad weather the event will be cancelled.
Cook and Lunch

At lunch we offer a Barbecue Cook and Lunch course, where guests from each party can help grill lunch, under the careful tuition of Cookery School chef director Stephen Bulmer.
Non-cooking guests and children are also welcome. Enjoy a stroll in the grounds or watch the cooks, before joining them for lunch.
£40 per person – one hour of barbecue cookery tuition and lunch.
£25 per person – adult non-cooking lunch guest, £15 – child’s lunch.(includes a glass of Pimms or soft drink on arrival)
Barbecue Cookery Course

A full day Barbecue Cookery Course that covers the making of marinades, rubs and accompaniments, in addition to grill skills and other barbecue-based cookery methods.

We are delighted to have received planning approval for our Country Club and Spa, which will include an indoor swimming pool with full spa and fitness facilities, as well as a 40-seat conservatory restaurant, coffee shop and Swinton Estate shop.
