Deerhouse Lunches and Dinners

Alfresco Barbecues in the Parkland

For those who are looking for something really out of this world, join us for an alfresco lunch or dinner at our charming, period Deerhouse in the parkland. Relax with a refreshing aperitif and watch Michelin-trained chef and Cookery School Director Stephen Bulmer prepare a delicious feast of barbecued meats, fish, salads and desserts, served buffet-style.  Once you have made your selections, sit back and enjoy a relaxed, informal meal with views extending over the hotel and parkland to the distant Vale of York.

Lunch:
19th April, 20th April, 24th May, 25th May, 21st June, 22nd June,
26th July, 2nd August, 3rd August, 6th September, 7th September

At lunch we offer a Barbecue Cook and Lunch course, where guests from each party can help grill lunch, under the careful tuition of Cookery School chef director Stephen Bulmer.

Non-cooking guests and children are also welcome. Enjoy a stroll in the grounds or watch the cooks, before joining them for lunch.

£40 per person – one hour of barbecue cookery tuition and lunch
£25 per person – adult non-cooking lunch guest, £15 – child’s lunch 
(includes a glass of Pimms or soft drink on arrival)
Booking essential – by Thursday evening of the preceding week.  

Dinner:
19th April, 24th May, 20th June, 21st June, 26th July,
2nd August, 6th September

At dinner, join us for a relaxing aperitif while Stephen prepares dinner – tasting all the better for being outdoors with candlelight, a starlit sky and a blazing fire. What better way to relax and soak up the atmosphere of a dreamy English summer’s evening?

£35 per person (includes a glass of Pimms or soft drink on arrival)
Booking essential – by Thursday evening of the preceding week.  

Dishes served at lunch and dinner will typically include:
 
Asian-style Pork Belly, Pad Thai Salad
Lamb Kofte, Cous Cous with Spices, Seeds & Herbs, Mint Yoghurt
Grilled Chicken Paillard, Classic Caesar’s Salad
Grilled Masham Sausages
Grilled Halloumi Cheese (vegetarian)
Selection of Grilled Vegetables
 
These will be followed by a choice of desserts.
 
Depending on numbers, guests may be seated together at a single large table for lunches and dinners.The above dishes are representative of the dishes served. However, Swinton Park Cookery School reserve the right to change any or all of these dishes, as circumstances require.
 

This is a rustic experience, with uneven ground surrounding the Deerhouse. Please take care on arrival and departure. Warm clothing and footwear highly recommended in the evenings, which become cool after sunset.
