Themed Lunches, Events and Day Courses
Garden Lunches - Spring and Summer months 2008
Join the renowned gardener Susan Cunliffe-Lister, who has pioneered the restoration of the grounds and gardens at Swinton Park, for lunch and an informative talk and tour of the grounds. Early booking strongly recommended for these highly popular events. Later in the year there are also the "Decorating Swinton Park" lunches for decorating ideas and suggestions, using foliage and dried flowers from the garden.
Garden Design Days - July and August 2008
Join Susan Cunliffe-Lister, for a Garden Design Day and learn about planting, planning and designing both a kitchen garden and the gardens in the parkland . The day gives you an opportunity to extend your knowledge to a greater depth and to inspire you with fresh ideas and practical suggestions on how to tackle your own gardening challenges; it starts at 11.00 am with a talk from Susan followed by lunch and then a tour of the garden and a question and answer session, ending at about 4.00pm. The day costs £100 per person, and the maximum number in a group is 8.
Wine Appreciation Lunches - throughout 2008
Our Wine Appreciation Lunches are hosted by a local wine expert and offer a light hearted approach to the world of wine, exploring the topical issues of the day followed by a tasting of some of their exceptional wines and a two course meal. The themes include New World v Old World; Anything But Chardonnay and Big Bold Winter Reds
Fine Jewels with Susan Rumfitt - Spring 2008
Join our Fine Jewels Lunches, which are hosted by the jewellery expert Susan Rumfitt. Susan has an international following and has recently been selected to join the panel for the BBC Antiques Roadshow. There is a choice of two themes that Susan will focus on. Following a short lecture and lunch you will be able to handle examples of antique and contemporary jewellery.
5th March - Elegance and Power From Edwardian Elegance to 1980’s Power Dressing see how fashion influenced jewellery design in the C20th. A talk illustrated by slides and pieces of jewellery from the C20th.
22nd April - Jewellery Discovery Day A guide to jewellery buying. Looking at how gemstones, design, provenance or fashion can effect jewellery design. With a handson'approach this lunch giv es you the chance to learn more about your own jewellery and how to add to your collection.
Decorating Swinton Park - December 2008
Join Susan Cunliffe-Lister for a tour of the castle and a talk about the decorations, using traditional styles and techniques including dried and fresh foliage from the gardens. Includes a two course lunch. £25 per guest.
Christmas Party Nights - 17th, 18th & 22nd December
Individuals and groups are very welcome to join us for our party nights - come and enjoy the celebrations without all the hard work of making the arrangements! The night includes dinner and dancing and costs £35 per guest.

The Garden Lunches are served at 1.00pm with a talk
and tour of the grounds afterwards.
The talks and demonstrations for the Fine Jewels and Wine Lunches
all start at 12.00pm which then lead into lunch.
The talk and demonstration for the Decorating Swinton Park lunch
starts at 11.00am, with lunch afterwards.
The Garden Design Day starts at 11.00am and ends at approximately
4.00pm, and includes lunch and refreshments.
The prices per person for each event, which includes a two course lunch and coffee (along with the tuition, tour or demonstration mentioned above) are:
