Gourmet Weekends at Swinton Park are a celebration of fine wine and gourmet cuisine, giving our talented chefs the opportunity to flex their culinary muscles, showcasing both wonderful seasonal ingredients from the Swinton Estate and fantastic artisan produce from further afield.

Join us for a relaxing weekend of delicious flavours, new culinary insights and convivial conversation.



Programme Details


Arrive on Friday in time for afternoon tea, which is served from 12 noon* leaving plenty of time in the afternoon to explore the Parkland, book a spa treatment or enjoy some time relaxing in the exclusive spa with cedar hot tub and sauna (advance reservations esssential).

The Gourmet Weekend programme begins at 5.00pm with a wine tasting exploring a variety of grapes, blends and styles of wine.

Dinner on Friday evening is served in Samuel’s restaurant at the time of your choosing, so please make a reservation in advance. Enjoy a pre-dinner glass of sparkling wine while you select your choices from the Classic menu with two glasses of wine each from our House Selection.

(*Please note that rooms are not available until 3pm. However, we are happy to store your luggage until you room is available)


Gourmet Weekend Demonstration



Breakfast is served in Samuel’s restaurant from 7.30am, or in your room, as you prefer. Two demonstrations will then take place in the cookery school, with morning coffee served in the break between demonstrations.

At noon, a second wine tasting will take place. This is followed by a Wine Appreciation Lunch, which is an optional addition to the Gourmet Weekend programme, priced at £40 per person.

Alternatively you might prefer to have a light lunch from our Castle Club (bar) menu, or book a hotel activity such as a Hawk Walk at the Bird of Prey Centre. You might also enjoy our Gourmet Treasure Hunt, taking you around the shops in Masham.

A third demonstration will take place in the cookery school at 3pm, followed by a cream tea. 

After tea you you can enjoy some free time relaxing, perhaps taking in a spa treatment or a walk before dinner. Pre-dinner drinks will be served at 6.30pm followed by dinner on the Signature Tasting Menu with matching wines. This will be served in the Private Dining Room, with our Gourmet Weekend guests seated together at a single table.

Breakfast is served from 7.30am to 10am, with checkout requested by 11am.

After breakfast, guests are welcome to take a drive around the Parkland with our Porter and see the fallow deer before departing (advance booking essential as places are limited in the Land Rover).

Price: From £181.25 per person, per night.

Rate based on two guests sharing a room. Minimum two night stay applies.

The Kitchen Gossip

Autumn is my favourite season, with wild mushrooms and delicious game coming in from the Swinton Estate. Come and join our Wild About Food foraging day in October, or learn some new techniques and recipes on our Game Cookery courses in November. Soon we’ll be gearing up for Christmas too - cooking our Christmas in a Box take home Festive menu for six and entertaining at our Christmas Chef Table Lunches and Dinners.

With Christmas in mind, don’t forget we sell Gift Vouchers for cookery courses and Chef Tables, which the recipient can book for the date of their choice.
