Chef’s Table

The Chef’s Table is a set menu demonstration dinner served to you at the demonstration table in the cookery school. The meal is cooked by the Cookery School Head Chef John Rogers, and guests enjoy the unique experience of seeing a an expert at work, whilst at the same time being able to savour a delicious meal in the relaxed an informal surroundings of the demonstration cookery school kitchen.

What is unique about the Chef’s Table at Swinton Park is that John cooks just for the guests at the demonstration table and no other, without the usual distractions found in a commercial kitchen.

Guests at the table have his undivided attention and are able to converse freely with him throughout the evening, should they want to take some tips and suggestions home with them at the end of the evening.

Guests staying at the hotel on a DB&B basis can attend the Chef’s Table as an alternative to dinner in the restaurant. If you are interested in evening dining events, you may also be interested in our Sushi Dinners and Curry Club which also take place in the cookery school – please see the cookery school brochure for further details.

Please see the Cookery School Course Calendar for dates, and the Tariff and Timings page for further details.

Sunday Masterclass Lunch

Sunday Masterclass Lunch

This is a Sunday Lunch with a difference – enjoy some quality time with your family and friends, whilst at the same time learning some new skills and watching John cook you a fabulous meal served at the demonstration table. This is a very relaxed event, with guests encouraged to ask John for advice or suggestions throughout the demonstration and meal, and offers the winning combination of good wine, food and company. Guests are also welcome to take a walk in the 200 acres of parkland, gardens and woodland surrounding the hotel before or after the meal.

The style of cuisine served will be, broadly speaking, Modern British, whilst the choice of menu will vary according to the season and ingredients available, the majority of which will be sourced from the hotel’s four acre walled garden, 20,000 acre estate or surrounding countryside.

The lunch will start at 11.00am with a demonstration, and lunch will be served at 12.30pm.

Please see the Cookery School Course Calendar for dates, and the Tariff and Timings page for further details.
