Accommodation & General Info
Cookery course rates do not include accommodation at the hotel. However, we we appreciate that our rural location, lovely though it is, is quite a distance for some guests wanting to visit our cookery school more regularly and for longer courses. With this in mind we have created a special accommodation rate for cookery school guests attending 3-day, 2-day and 1-day courses, starting at £110 per night, including breakfast.
This rate is available for both single and double occupancy, if both guests are attending a cookery course
Non cooking partners sharing a cooking guest’s room will pay just an additional £50/night
This rate applies on Sunday to Thursday nights, subject to availability. Standard rates apply on Friday and Saturday nights, but a complimentary upgrade will be given.
Terms & Conditions: Applies to new cookery course bookings only, excluding half day and children’s courses. Maximum of two consecutive nights at this rate. Standard rates will apply for additional guests sharing the same room. The rate shown above applies to Knights and Barons rooms, with an additional charge of £25 for Earls and Dukes rooms, or £50 for Suites. Cannot be combined with any other offer or promotional rate. Castle Club privileges will apply.
For those wanting a more rustic alternative, the Bivouac at Druid’s Temple glamping destination is just a few miles from the school and offers Bunk Barn, Yurt and Woodland Shack accommodation – www.thebivouac.co.uk
For guests who are attending a cookery course and guest partners, a 10% discount is available on any spa treatments booked during the course or during your stay at the hotel.
Partners are welcome to join the cookery courses for meals, subject to availability. With the exception of the ‘Ultimate Sunday Lunch’ course, lunch is usually served in the cookery school at the demonstration table. Lunch for the ‘Ultimate Sunday Lunch’ course and dinner on the first night of Two Day courses are usually served in the Cookery School Dining Room. The rates for partners’ meals are £35 for lunch and £45 for dinner. Pre-booking is essential for partners’ meals and is subject to availability. Please also mention any special dietary needs when booking.
Drinks and Refreshments
Refreshments will be served either at the beginning of or during most courses, at no extra charge. Wine and beer will be served during meals, to be charged for separately.
All Cookery School guests will receive a recipe folder or card at the end of every course. Children are also given aprons to take home. Please also
sign up to the Friends of Swinton Park on our website for our monthly seasonal recipes.
The Kitchen Gossip
It’s lovely to see new season’s ingredients coming in, heralding the delights of the year to come. As well as Yorkshire rhubarb, the wild garlic is now in season and it wont be too long before new season’s lamb is available. Click Rhubarb to find my favourite spring recipe, which is very versatile and easy to make at home.
2014 has got off to a flying start with busy classes right across the schedule. Our Thursday Cookery Club Mornings and Supper Evenings have been very well received and our Barbecue Cook and Lunch courses get going over the Easter weekend.
