Learn the key techniques for successful, consistent baking ranging from biscuit and tart mixes, to sponge and fruit cakes. The recipes selected for this course are exemplify the key techniques for making a wide variety of biscuits, cakes and desserts. The class will also make a savoury quiche, to eat as lunch.
Recipes typically included are:
‘Old Peculiar’ Fuit Cake
Yorkshire Curd Tart
Sticky Toffee Pudding
Techniques included are:
– Biscuit making
– Sweet pastry for tart bases
– Various sponge techniques, including whisking skills
– Fruit cake
– Choux pastry
