Pre Dinner Entertainment and Dining Experiences
Make it an evening to remember, with pre-dinner cocktails served to you at the demonstration table in the cookery school. Our mixologist, Ben Botham, will demystify the art of making a perfect cocktail and let you in on a few tricks of the trade. Every member of the group can also have a go at mixing their own cocktail – either one of the old classics or one of Ben’s more recent creations.
£25 per person (including cocktail), maximum group size 26.
Enjoy a pre-dinner glass of prosecco, while you enjoy the theatre of a 20 minute cookery demonstration in the cookery school. Your canapés are cooked and then served to you at the table, while your guests relax and soak up the atmosphere. There is a choice of themes, either Sushi served by our sushi chef Simon Phillips, or Modern British served by our cookery school chef Robert Taylor.
£25 per person (based on a group of 12), maximum group size 26.
Chef’s Table Dining Experiences
We are delighted to offer you the Chef’s Table dining experience, one of the first of its kind.
The dinner will be hosted by the cookery school chef, John Rogers who has trained with the celebrity TV chef Rosemary Shrager at the cookery school and worked under Simon Crannage in the award winning restaurant kitchen in the hotel.
Guests will be able to enjoy the unique experience of seeing an expert at work, whilst at the same time being able to savour a delicious meal in the relaxed and informal surroundings of the demonstration cookery school kitchen. What is unique about the Chef’s Table at Swinton Park is that John will be cooking for these select guests and no other, without any of the usual distractions found in a commercial kitchen. The guests will have his undivided attention and will be able to converse with him throughout the evening should they choose, with plenty of tips and suggestions up his sleeve for those wanting to take some home with them.
The Menu du Jour meal will start with an introduction by John to the ingredients selected for that evening’s meal and the dishes he will be preparing, during which time champagne and canapés will be served. John will then demonstrate each course as the guests observe, which will then be served to them at the demonstration table.
The dining experience costs £360 for 8 guests, with a maximum number of 10 guests attending (£45 for each additional guest). Drinks are not included in this package price and to be an additional charge.

Thank goodness the sun has now come out and we seem to have finally put winter behind us! The Parkland has burst into bloom with clouds of blossom and a colourful carpet of daffodils and bluebells around the trees.
The Walled Garden is also getting going, with bright tulips swaying in the breeze and home grown asparagus bursting forth. Asparagus is at its most delicious when eaten closest to home, so dishes featuring home-grown asparagus are now on all our menus, including the bar and lounge. The garden furniture is out and soon it will be time for afternoon teas on the lawn and evening drinks on the terrace at sunset. English summertime at it’s best.
