Golf
The charming 9 hole Masham Golf course is adjacent to the hotel grounds. Hotel guests are able to play at all times, subject to any club tournaments.
£22 midweek/£27 weekend per player for the full 18 holes, and the usual dress codes apply : one golf bag per player, and a maximum of four players per tee.
Players need to purchase tickets for their green fees at the hotel reception, and sign in at the clubhouse, displaying their ticket on their bags whilst playing.
Other local 18 hole courses include Bedale, Romanby, Ripon and Catterick. Please ask reception to arrange a tee time for you.
If you would like to spend a little time improving your skills and technique, we can book you a lesson with the golf club PGA Coach, Andy Marshall, allowing you to develop your swing, short play, or any aspect of your game you need to focus on.
Golf tuition costs are :
Adults
Half hour lesson : £32.50
One hour lesson : £52.00
Nine hole playing lesson : £71.50
Junior (under 18)
Half hour lesson : £19.50
One hour lesson : £32.50
9 hole playing lesson : £52.00
Please note that lessons need to be booked in advance and a cancellation fee applies to bookings cancelled within 5 days of a booked lesson.

Thank goodness the sun has now come out and we seem to have finally put winter behind us! The Parkland has burst into bloom with clouds of blossom and a colourful carpet of daffodils and bluebells around the trees.
The Walled Garden is also getting going, with bright tulips swaying in the breeze and home grown asparagus bursting forth. Asparagus is at its most delicious when eaten closest to home, so dishes featuring home-grown asparagus are now on all our menus, including the bar and lounge. The garden furniture is out and soon it will be time for afternoon teas on the lawn and evening drinks on the terrace at sunset. English summertime at it’s best.
