Front of House Porter

We are searching for someone to join our team of Front of House Porters. This role would be most suitable for someone with a good to extensive knowledge of the local area and who is passionate about customer service. It is a diverse and varied role where people skills are of paramount importance.  You must be able to interact with people of all levels and be versatile to the needs of our business.  You would support the Front of House Manager and Head Porter in the Front of House team.

Role includes meeting and greeting our guests that arrive at the hotel. You would be required to assist with luggage, give directions and make suggestions and recommendations on places of interest to visit.  Valet parking of guest vehicles is also required so a driving licence would be a strong asset, but not necessarily essential.  You will coordinate the setting up of conferences and events that are taking place at the hotel, which can be physically demanding at times.  The successful candidate will also be required to showcase the hotel to prospective bookers of weddings & events. You will be a friendly and professional team player who will be able to demonstrate excellent people skills, with a focus on continually improving the quality of our service so that we exceed guest expectation first time, on time every time.

You will:

  • Have previous experience of working within a customer focused environment or team.
  • Be enthusiastic, positive and sociable with a great personality and a love for hospitality
  • Be able to demonstrate your ability to converse with a wide variety of guests and colleagues at all levels; therefore a high standard of written and spoken English is essential.
  • Have excellent personal presentation

Hours: 40 hours per week (working 5 days out of 7)

Shifts:  Shifts will be flexible around the needs of the business include evenings, weekends, public holidays and the festive season.

Salary: Competitive

Receptionist (Full Time)

We need an enthusiastic, hard-working receptionist to join our front of house team, providing excellent customer service to our guests. You will be a friendly and professional team player with excellent people skills, a high standard of written and spoken English, an excellent telephone manner and a commitment to continually improving the quality of our service.

Reporting to the Front of House Manager, the role will include checking guests in and out, reservations and event enquiry handling together with associated paperwork; showcasing the hotel to prospective bookers; accurate billing and posting of revenue and communicating information both within the front of house team and to other departments.

  • 40 hours/week approximately (5 days out of 7)
  • Shifts will include some evenings, weekends and public holidays as business requires
  • Previous experience as part of a team in a similar establishment essential
  • Working knowledge of windows-based computer systems preferred
  • Uniform and meals on duty provided

Housekeeping Supervisor (Full Time)

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our team of housekeepers. You will be responsible for ensuring that our bedrooms are serviced, cleaned and presented to the highest standards, as our guests expect from a luxury hotel. You will assist the housekeeping manager at a supervisor level to ensure that these standards are adhered to consistently and that training is managed effectively.  Cleaning and presentation of our bedroom accommodation is a key part of your job and attention to detail is of the utmost importance.  Additionally you may be involved in other duties of a varied nature such as assisting guests, providing information to our guests and liaising with other hotel departments, management and staff.

Hours: Full Time (5 days out of 7)

Shifts: Flexible around the needs of the business, including evenings, weekends, public holidays and the festive season.

Salary: Competitive

Chef de Rang Waiters

Full time chef de rang waiters required with experience of working at a well rated hotel or restaurant, offering the highest levels of customer service. The requirements for this position are:

  • Taking of food and beverage orders
  • Superior level of food and beverage service to customers
  • Laying tables, polishing tableware, delivery and clearing of tableware
  • Taking food and wine orders, and serving meals to guests
  • Perform wine service operations and preparation of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and beverages
  • Maintaining a clean & safe working environment
  • Maintaining appearance in accordance with the restaurant’s grooming standards
  • Maintaining a harmonious relationship with other members of the service and kitchen team
  • Acquiring a full knowledge of the restaurants food and beverage service policies and procedure
  • Performing cashiering duties for customer bills
  • Assisting with opening and closing duties as required

A working knowledge of point of sale systems would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given.

This position will require working split shifts, including evening and weekend work, as scheduled by rota.
