The lawn overlooking Home Lake in front of the hotel is a popular spot for croquet and boules.The equipment is available at all times free of charge (subject to guest demand), no booking required.
Kiteflying
The hotel has several kites available at all times (subject to guest demand), free of charge. Please feel free to use them or bring your own – the lawn above the gatehouse is a popular spot to catch the best of the breeze.
Falconry
Meet the Birds, Hawks Walks and Hunting Days – these are just a few of the experiences on offer at the Bird of Prey centre at the aviary in the parkland, a very short walk from the hotel. Please go to the Swinton Park Birds of Prey Centre pages for further information.
Walking & Nature Trails
There is extensive walking available to guests at Swinton Park, from a leisurely stroll around the grounds in the parkland to a hike up onto the moors on the Estate. There are also nature trails for children to follow in the hotel grounds. For further details please go to our Walking pages

Thank goodness the sun has now come out and we seem to have finally put winter behind us! The Parkland has burst into bloom with clouds of blossom and a colourful carpet of daffodils and bluebells around the trees.
The Walled Garden is also getting going, with bright tulips swaying in the breeze and home grown asparagus bursting forth. Asparagus is at its most delicious when eaten closest to home, so dishes featuring home-grown asparagus are now on all our menus, including the bar and lounge. The garden furniture is out and soon it will be time for afternoon teas on the lawn and evening drinks on the terrace at sunset. English summertime at it’s best.
